Equipment Repairs

Repair and restore electrical safety equipment, from live-line tool refinishing and painting to rubber insulating blanket patching, then retest to ASTM standards.

Technician refinishing electrical safety equipment

Repair. Restore. Return to Service.

Field wear doesn't always mean replacement. Copperhead Labs repairs and restores electrical safety equipment so your crews stay equipped without unnecessary scrap costs.

We refinish and paint live-line tools, patch rubber insulating blankets, and dielectric test restored equipment to ASTM standards before it goes back on the job.

Live-Line Refinishing Process

Inspect → Clean → Patch → Sand → Paint → Seal → Dielectric Test to ASTM standards

1

Inspect

Each tool is inspected for surface wear, damage, and overall condition before work begins.

2

Clean

Dirt, oils, and contaminants are removed so patch, paint, and seal materials bond cleanly.

3

Patch

Surface defects and damaged areas are patched to restore a sound insulating surface.

4

Sand

Surfaces are sanded smooth to prepare for a consistent, durable paint finish.

5

Paint

Tools are painted to restore appearance and protect the insulating FRP surface.

6

Seal

A protective seal is applied to lock in the finish and help resist weathering in the field.

7

Dielectric Test

Finished tools are dielectric tested to ASTM standards before returning to service.

Rubber insulating blanket

Rubber Blanket Patching

Punctures, cuts, and worn spots don't always mean a blanket is scrap. We patch rubber insulating blankets so they can return to service after inspection and dielectric testing.

Pair patching with our Rubber PPE Testing to verify repaired blankets meet ASTM requirements before they go back on the job.

Restore Your Equipment
